Summer 2024 explores Manolo’s most enduring inspirations and finds new expressions whilst upholding the incredible craftsmanship and creativity at the heart of Manolo Blahnik. From the evocative world of dance to modernism in architecture, his inspirations are translated into styles that use the finest fabrics, meticulous details, and elevated techniques resulting in striking creations for the upcoming season.

ACCOUTREMENTS

This season, Manolo casts his expert eye for embellishment through interpretations of ornamental accoutrements from the Gothic and Belle Epoque periods. Intricate botanical prints and delicate lace with a gothic rose motif adorn classic silhouettes for a romantic offering for the new season. Matching clutch bags and new dramatic oval embellishments in glittering gold and playful pastels add Manolo’s artistic touch to new season styles.

GRAPHIC STRUCTURE

For Summer ’24, Manolo was inspired by the stark structural forms of modernist architecture. Being a master of both form and fabric, he combined the architectural concept of absence and presence to create silhouettes with graphic crossover details and striking striped effects. The addition of a new sculptural heel with a high-gloss lacquered finish creates depth and relief for a seasonal wardrobe refresh, whilst casual options in relaxed raffia are perfect for weekend escapades.

DANCE

Manolo’s interest in dance began in childhood when he discovered ‘Les Ballet Russes’ through a book in his mother’s library and since, has had an enduring impact on his designs. Evocative styles with sumptuous swirls in butter-soft nappa and supple suede were inspired by the Slavic costumes of the 1913 production of Nijinsky’s ‘The Rite of Spring’. Light, delicate straps, inspired by the elegance of the ballet adorn mules, for a traditional and graceful addition to the seasonal assortment.

Summer ’24 celebrates many of Manolo Blahnik’s most enduring inspirations, combining heritage and modernity for a collection of designs so characteristically ‘Manolo’.
