OUR COMMITMENT

Manolo Blahnik is proud to support the Mental Health Foundation and has been doing so as an official partner since May 2019.

Their work on mental health during the coronavirus pandemic, is one of many highlights in the work they carry out to implement systemic change around all mental health related issues. Manolo Blahnik has made a recent donation to help fund the Mental Health: Coronavirus and the Pandemic project, a fundamental research programme to examine the impact on individuals and communities across the UK.

As of July 2020, Manolo Blahnik will support the funding of a new set of research on the mental health of people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. This work will be done in partnership with the University of Cambridge, Swansea University, Queen’s University Belfast and Strathclyde University with the aim of devising a targeted response for this specific community.

The Mental Health Foundation is a leader in research and awareness. Their team has been working tirelessly to identify and inform on emerging issues, helping organisations and the UK Government effectively respond to those in need during and following the crisis.

Already, over half a million people have visited the Coronavirus pages on their website to view evidence-based content for looking after mental health in current times. This number is growing daily and highlights the need for the work and support they offer.

The Coronavirus and the Pandemic project leads directly to one main action. That is, managing the impact of the pandemic currently, as we start to leave lockdown and considering the longer-term changes that have to be made to protect and improve our mental health.

Manolo Blahnik is proud to support the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation to mark Mental Health Awareness Week in the US from 4th-10th October 2020.

The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation aims to eradicate the stigma around mental health issues in the African American community with a new initiative, Break the Silence – Break the Cycle. Through their work providing scholarships to students who seek careers in the mental health field, offering mental health services to students in urban schools and combating recidivism within the prison system, the Foundation ensures cultural competency in caring for African Americans who struggle with mental illness.
