The end of a stiletto heel wears down quickly and can cause further damage if not promptly and properly replaced. Not to worry – with this service the tip (also called the cap or lift) will be replaced with one perfectly fitted and coloured to match.

This is the least expensive and most effective pre and mid-wear solution. A small circular metal disc is nailed shallowly into a leather sole at its most vulnerable points (toes and heels) to prevent the sole’s wear and tear.

Toe Pieces
A toe piece is a mini resole at the shoe’s tip where it tends to wear down the fastest. Most often appropriate for stilettos, but not always.

Flat Reheel
Everyone without exception wears down the back of their heels, particularly at the back corner. Ensuring you address this before the heel block is damaged is vital. Be it a loafer or lace-up, leather or rubber, The Restory will replace it quickly and with a close-as-possible match to the original, unless requested otherwise.

Relast
Industrial strength glue typically holds the insole and the base sole together. But like all bonds, it degrades over time, sometimes getting dry, cracking and losing adherence. With this service, the shoes will be taken apart, removing the old glue and applying fresh glue to ensure all is secure.

Repair and Replace Hardware
Damage or discolouration, rivets or pins – The Restory’s dedicated sourcing team can fix the original, solving any hardware problems. There may be additional costs depending on the construction of the item and the hardware.

Protective Sole
This pre-wear service works wonders shoe. A thin rubber sole is affixed to the outer leather sole providing grip, comfort and longevity. This solution will prevent resoles of any kind for years.

Remake Loops for Boots
Little loops of leather and other material (also called ‘keepers’) hold important components together such as straps, buckles and laces. If they break in an unrepairable way, The Restory will simply make a new one, matching everything as close as possible to the original.

New Elastics
Tiny strips of elastic between ankle straps and buckles are easily broken on delicate shoes and sandals. The Restory source and replace with the closest possible match in size, colour and material to the original. The Restory offer a master service (all hand stitching) and a standard service where the need for perfection isn’t as pressing.

Replace Binding or Ribbon
Binding on shoes usually runs along the opening of the shoe to provide a finished or decorative effect to raw edges. When it muddies, tears or wears down, it can be replaced in whole or in part, with as close as possible a match to the original.

New Shanks
This critical piece in a stiletto, boot or dress shoe is an internal bit of metal that gives support and stability. In the case that it breaks, bends or loosens, The Restory can bend it back into place or replace it altogether.

Reseat Heels
This service is applied when the heel tears away from the base of the shoe, often exposing the nails. The Restory can remove and replace the nails and reattach the heel, often using the same heel if it is not damaged.

Half Resole
During this service, the outer sole will be replaced from the bend in your foot to the toe. The Restory will match as close as possible to the original style unless you ask otherwise.

Remake Tassels or Zip Puller
Whether lost or damaged, The Restory will recreate and attach new tassels or zip pullers. They’ll match as close to the original as possible unless you request something new.

Full Resole
Also called a ‘long sole’, this is a resole from the toe all the way back to the heel block. It also includes a reheel. It provides a like-new feeling and effectively restarts the clock on the shoe’s lifetime. Please be aware that this will remove any embossed branding on the original sole.

Leather Surface and Colour Restoration
From holes and scratches to colour fade and transfer, this service is the crown jewel of our toolbox. Taking a less is more approach, preferring to let a few flaws show through rather than compromise the touch and feel of our favourite and most respected fabrics. Not all colour restoration will need surface restoration, but all surface restoration will need colour.

Broken Heels
When the heel itself snaps, often at the most inopportune time, the whole piece may need replacing. The Restory will recover the heel in a material as close as possible to the original, or even a complementary material you wish. Additional sourcing costs may apply.

Recover Heels
